Exit 137

Fife / Milton / US Highway 99  - Fife, WA – Gas, food, and lodging in the area.

 

Fife is in the Puyallup River valley east of Tacoma.  The freeway actually runs east and west here.  The port of Tacoma is to the north and west of Fife.  Old US Highway 99 lies just west (actually north) of the freeway here and is lined with local businesses and tourist services.  The southern end of Highway 99 begins at this exit and continues north from here all the way to Everett where it ends at I-5 exit 189.  Milton is a mainly residential area which lies east of the City of Fife.

 

Exit 136

Port of Tacoma / Fife – The Fife City Hall plus lots of tourist facilities lie north (west side of freeway) of this exit

 

Exit 135

Puyallup / Bay Street / WA-167 – Highway 167 heads east to Puyallup and the Western Washington State Fairgrounds.  West of the freeway is the Tacoma Dome, fuel, food, and lodging.

Tacoma City Center via I-705 – This exit will take you to into downtown Tacoma via a short freeway.

 

Exit 132

Bremerton / Gig Harbor / Highway WA-16 – This freeway take you to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge through northwest Tacoma.  There are no tourist facilities at the exit and no return to Interstate 5.

 

Exit 129

Exit 130

Exits 129 and 130 exit into the South Tacoma Area. 

This area is highly commercial and has lots of tourist facilities.  The newer malls and shopping centers in this area qualify it as Tacoma’s new shopping area.

 

Exit 130

Tacoma Mall Blvd. – Tacoma Mall is at this exit along with many other tourist facilities.

 

Exit  129

72nd Street / 84th Street – Fuel, food, and lodging

 

Exit 128

 (northbound only) – exits into same area as exit 129

 

Exit 127

Tacoma Way / Puyallup / Mt. Rainier / Highway 512 -  Fuel, food, lodging. 

This exit actually is in the City of Lakewood. 

 

Highway 512 heads east from this exit to Puyallup and the Western Washington State Fairgrounds.  Heading east from Puyallup on highways 167 and 410 you will go through the Towns of  Buckley and Enumclaw on your way to Mount Rainier National Park. 

 

Exit 125

Lakewood / McCord Air Force BaseHOSPITAL – Fuel, food, lodging

 

Exit 124

Gravelly Lake Drive – Mainly access to the residential area around Gravelly Lake.

 

Exit 123

Thorne Lane / Tillicum Lane – No tourist facilities.

 

Exit 122

Camp MurrayHOSPITAL AT CAMP MURRAY – Fuel and food at this exit

 

Exit 120

Fort Lewis main gateFort Lewis Military Museum – No facilities at this exit

 

Exit 119

Du Pont Road / Steilacoom – This exit has no tourist facilities.

 

This exit will take you west (actually north) to the historic Town of Steilacoom.  The county runs a ferry from Steilacoom to Ketron and Anderson Islands from Steilacoom.

 

Exit  =118

Center Drive – No facilities at this exit.
