The
City of SeaTac was incorporated in 1990.
It is located midway between Seattle
and Tacoma, Washington. SeaTac is 10 square miles in area and has
a population of over 25,000.
SeaTac
is surrounded by and shares boundaries with other cities. On SeaTac’s northwest side is Burien and
to the southwest is Des Moines. To the northeast is the City of Tukwila and to the southeast is Kent.
The
City has one main attraction that most visitors to the Seattle
area see, the Seattle-Tacoma
International Airport. The airport is located in the physical
center of the city and is approximately 3 square miles in area or 30% of
the area of the city.

The Seattle Tacoma International
Airport
The “SeaTac” airport is the largest employer in SeaTac
and brings the largest group of visitors to the Seattle Metropolitan area
so it is a major factor in the community.
The airport is the only reason most of the hotels and motels exist
in SeaTac. The city does not own the
airport or the land it sits on, it is owned by the Port of Seattle. The Port has its own police and fire
departments. For more information
see Visitor Information below.
