A map of Seattle Metro is loading......

Mercer Island is a city which encompasses an entire island in Lake Washington in the greater Seattle Metropolitan area.  The island is largely residential with only a few businesses located on the island.  Mercer Island is located at I-90 Exit 7.

It sounds like it must be a sleepy little berg and would be if you had to take a ferry to it like most islands in Washington State.

Mercer Island, unlike other islands, has Interstate-90 running right through the northern end of the island.  The Lake Washington Floating Bridge links Mercer Island to Seattle.  So this sleepy residential community has one of the loudest noise generators running through it, Interstate-90.  In recent years much of I-90 has had a concrete lid noise reduction system put over it to make life on the island quieter.

In the map above Mercer Island is located in Lake Washington, east of Seattle.
