Our Central Seattle Neighborhood Areas

The Central Seattle area is made up of fifteen of our neighborhood areas that are south of the ship canal and north of the south end of Elliot Bay and Interstate-90.  They are east of Puget Sound and west of Lake Washington.   Downtown Seattle is included in this area .   This area is the Core of the Greater Seattle Metropolitan Area.

We have found that each area has some unique point of interest for the visitor.  In general, each area tends to be its own small city as well as a part of the City of Seattle.  If you are in Seattle for the first time and only for a short visit we suggest you start with three areas, the Waterfront because it is where Seattle began, Seattle Center which hosts the Space Needle where you can view the entire city, and the Downtown area that is a shoppers dream.

Maps for you to print and take with you

We make our own maps for this site and soon found that a large metropolitan city like Seattle was a mapping nightmare for 8½ by 11 format so that our users could print the maps.  Breaking the city up into areas is the answer to mapping and Seattle is a natural.  For now we have the downtown and a few neighborhoods in detailed maps and Area Pages.  There will be more will come online over the next few months.
