We should caution you that our Eastlake Neighborhood is different from the City’s official Eastlake Neighborhood. We have simplified Seattle’s neighborhoods for our use. Much of the City’s Eastlake Neighborhood is in our Montlake

Neighborhood to the northeast.

The map to the left is a map of Seattle showing the neighborhoods we use to define Seattle. The Eastlake area is shown in RED. Downtown Seattle is just east (right) of the words “Elliot Bay”

When you are driving around the downtown area, Eastlake is the area between the twin round towers of the Westin Hotel and the south end of Lake Union. The hub of tourist activity in the neighborhood is along the lake shore. The shoreline is lined with marinas and restaurants.

Eastlake Avenue begins in the northeast corner of this neighborhood and runs up the east side of Lake Union, over the University Bridge into the University of Washington.

One notable landmark in the northeast corner of this neighborhood up against Interstate-5 on Aloha Street just east of Eastlake Avenue is the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance a cancer care center of the University of Washington. This facility is at the forefront of cancer care and research.
