Area - DowntownLodging in Seattle.

Below are the hotels, motels, and inns we recommend and list in downtown Seattle, WA

.

Seattle, WA is located in western Washington on the Interstate-5 corridor on the east shore of Puget Sound.  Puget Sound is some 95 miles east of the Pacific Coast and is connected to the Pacific Ocean by the Strait of Juan de Fuca.  The Olympic Mountains and Olympic National Park are between Seattle and the Pacific Ocean giving Seattle a milder climate than on the coast.  Seattle is located on Elliott Bay.

The downtown area of Seattle, Washington lies at the top of a bluff behind the waterfront area along Elliot Bay.  The bluff is impossible to see because it is lined with buildings and the Alaska Way Viaduct runs along the waterfront on the flatlands at the bottom of the bluff.  However, the steep streets and in some places lack of streets are an indication of the bluff’s existence.  Seattle’s downtown is typical of large city downtowns, full of tall buildings.
