Sturgis, South Dakota – has a population of over 6000 and an elevation of 3468 feet above sea level. Sturgis is located in the famous Black Hills. There is a map available at the Chamber of Commerce for a self guided tour of cavalry life and stagecoach trails

Rapid City, South Dakota – has a population of around 60,000 and an elevation of 3220 feet above sea level. Gold was discovered in the Black Hills in 1874 and Rapid City was formed two years later in 1876. Mt. Rushmore is located near here.

Murdo, South Dakota – has a population of over 600 and an elevation of 2325 feet above sea level. Murdo was one of the destinations of the Texas Cattle Trail. Cattle are still a part of the economy here. The world famous Pioneer Auto Museum and 1880 antique town are located here.
