The town of Cottonwood

Exit 677 – Cottonwood – There is food and lodging at this exit.

Exit 676 – Gas Point Road – There is food, fuel, lodging, laundry, and auto repair at this exit.

Exit 675 – Bowman Road / Cottonwood – There is fuel and food at this exit.

Exit 667 – Snively Road / Auction Yard Rd. – No Facilities at this exit.

Exit 665 – Hooker Creed Road / Auction Yard Road – No Facilities at this exit.

 

Mile Post 663 & 664 – California State Rest Area – both northbound and southbound

 

Exit 663 – Jellys Ferry road – There is an RV Park at this exit.

Exit 662 – Wilcox Golf Road – There are no Facilities at this exit.

 

The City of Red Bluff – has a population of over 12,000 and an elevation of 304 feet.  The city is obviously named for the color of the bluffs in the area.  Red Bluff is the gateway to Lassen Volcanic National Park.  The city sits on the banks of the Sacramento River.  The Red Bluff / Tehama County Chamber of Commerce is located at 100 Main Street and their mailing address is PO Box 850, Red Bluff, CA 96080, phone 1-800-655-6225 or 530-527-6220.

Area Attractions

There is a salmon viewing Plaza 0.1 mi. east of I-5 on Highway 36 then 2 mi. south on Sale Lane.

William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park – 2 mi. north of town on the Adobe Road.  It contains an adobe that serves as a memorial to the founder and President of the California Republic.  In 1846 rumors of the Mexicans expelling Americans made Ide join a group of American settlers who fought the Bear Flag Revolt.  California became an independent country for 24 days until the start of the Mexican-American War.  This is a day use area with picnicking facilities.  There is a $1.00 fee for parking and entrance to the museum is free.

 

Exit 661 – Red Bluff / Highway Patrol – (Southbound only) - There are no Facilities at this exit.

US Highway 99 heads southeast from Exit 657 to Los Molinos and Chico.

Highway 36 heads east from this exit to Susanville.

Exit 657 – Red Bluff / Highway 36 / Highway 99 – Main exit to the city.

Exit 656 – Red Bluff / Diamond Avenue – HOSPITAL – Southern entrance to the city.

Exit 655 – Flores Avenue / Gerber / Proberta - There are no Facilities at this exit.

 

Exit 646 – Tehama / Gyle Road / Highway 811 – There is an RV Park 7 miles east of the exit.

Exit 644 – Finnell Road / Richland – There are no Facilities at this exit.

 

Mile Post 643 – California State Rest Stop northbound and southbound.

 

Town of Corning

Exit 641 – Corning / Corning Ave. / Highway A9 to US 99 – Main entrance to the town east of exit.  All facilities plus RV Park West of exit.

Exit 640 – Corning / South Ave. – All facilities plux RV Parks at 1mi. and 6 mi. east of exit.

 

Exit 636 – Liberal Ave – There are no Facilities at this exit.
