Battery Point Lighthouse points out the City to the travelers of the Pacific.
Crescent
City gets its name from the crescent shaped bay it is located on. The lighthouse resides at the northeast
corner of the bay and has been a beacon there for over 100 years.

Crescent
City is the county seat for Del Norte County.
The
harbor, at the
south end of town, is protected by a unique seawall constructed of 25-ton
concrete tetrapods that interlock. At
the west end of Front Street there is a public fishing pier. The
harbor offers boat launching, charter fishing, scenic boat trips, tackle shops,
and restaurants. If you turn south from
Front Street you will end up on Howe Drive which runs through Beachfront Park along the North shore of
the harbor.
