Roseburg Area

 

The Grants Pass Area starts at Interstate-5  Mile Post 79 and continues south to Exit 55.

Speaker Road – No facilities at this exit.

 

Exit 76

Wolf Creek – Lodging, 24 hr. fuel, and an RV Park are at this exit.

Smith Hill Summit – 1730 feet.

Sunny Valley – Fuel, lodging, and an RV park is located at this exit.

Sexton Mountain Pass – 1960 feet.

Merlin – There is an airport, an RV Park, and fuel at this exit

 

The Village of Merlin – is the center of rafting in the wild area of the Rogue River.  There are at least four resorts or rafting companies located on the river here.  Fishing, river rafting, and jet boats are king here.

 

 

The City of Grants Pass – has a population of about 17,500 and has an elevation of 951 feet.  The City is the center of the Rogue River recreation area.  They have a large Farmer’s Market here located at 4th and F Streets.  One of the main area attractions is Rogue River Jet Boat Excursions.  The Grants Pass Visitors and Convention Bureau is located at 1995 NW Vine Street, Grants Pass, OR 97526 (541-476-7717 or 1-800-547-5927) http://www.visitgrantspass.org

Exit 58

Grants Pass / Crescent City CA / Highway 99 / US Highway 199 – This is the City Center exit to Grants Pass.

 

Highway 199 heads southwest from here and is a popular route to the Pacific Coast.  It meets US Highway 101 at the coast just north of Crescent City, CA

 

Exit 55

Redwood Highway / Ocean Beaches / Grants Pass / Highway 199 – This is the main exit to the Redwood highway and the southern end of Grants Pass.

 

The Josephine County / Jackson County Line
