The Cities of Eugene and Springfield

City of Eugene has a population of over 110,000 and an elevation of 422 feet above sea level.  This city is located at the southern end of Oregon’s Willamette Valley where the first settlements in Oregon were located.  Eugene is Oregon’s second largest city.  It is a lumber and forest products center and is surrounded by forests, farmlands, and beautiful mountains.

Exit 195 – Springfield / Florence – There is a mall, food, and lodging at this exit.  The Visitor and Convention Bureau of Lane County is located at 115 W. 8th Street Suite 190 – 541-484-5307 or 1-800-547-5445.  The Valley River Center is a regional shopping mall located on Valley River Way.  The Lane County Historical Museum is located at 740 w. 13th Avenue.  The Museum of Natural History is located at 1680 E. 15th Avenue.

 

City of Springfield – has a population of almost 45,000 with an elevation of 470 feet.  The city is separated from Eugene by I-5.  The Gateway Mall is located here.  Springfield is also a lumber town.  The Springfield Museum is located at 590 Main Street.

Exit 189 – 30th Avenue - There is an RV Park, food, 24 hr. fuel, and lodging at this exit.

 

Exit  188 – Oak Ridge / Klamath Falls / Highway 58

–        There is a 24 hr. truck stop at this exit.

Exit 186 – northbound only – Goshen – no facilities.

Exit 182 – Creswell - There is an RV Park, food, 24 hr. fuel, and lodging at this exit.

The City of Cottage Grove – has a population of around 7500.  The city is between two rivers and is a recreation center for the area.  There are three golf courses, two lakes, dozens of historic homes and even a gold mining area here.  You won’t want to miss seeing the six covered bridges in the area.

Exit 172 – 6th Street / Cottage Grove Lake – southbound only – RV Park 2 mi. west.

 

Exit 170 – Cottage Grove / London – RV Park 6 mi. east.

 

Exit 163 – Curtin - There is an RV Park, food, fuel, and lodging at this exit.

Exit 162 – Ocean Beaches / Drain / Elkton / Highway 99 / Highway 38

                – There is lodging at this exit.

                 Highway 38 via Highway 99 heads west from here

                 to the ocean beaches (57 mi.)

 

Exit 161 – Anlauf (northbound only) – no facilities

Exit 160 – Salt Springs Road – no facilities

Exit 159 – Elk Creek / Cox Road – no facilities

 

Exit 154 – Yoncalla / Elk Head / London – no facilities

Exit 150 – Ocean Beaches / Yoncalla / Drain / Eklton / Highway 99 / Highway 38

              – There is an RV Park at the exit.

                 Highway 38 via Highway 99 heads west from here

                  to the ocean beaches (57 mi.)
