Bandon, Oregon is
located on the Southern Oregon Coast on the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway, US
Highway-101. Bandon, OR has a population of about 3,000 year round
residents but its population swells in the summer.

Bandon is named
after a city in Ireland. Recently
there has been an advertising effort to call the area “Bandon by the Sea.”
Bandon's Historic
Old Town lies at the north end of town on the south bank of the Coquille
River. Old Town is full of interesting shops. Across First Street you will find
Bandon's Boat Basin.
|
|
One of Bandon’s
main industries is the growing and processing of cranberries. You can find cranberry bogs both north
and south of town. Sometime in early
September they have their annual Bandon Cranberry Festival. It has been a tradition here for over 60
years. Visit the Chamber web site
listed below for current information.
Bandon's most
photographed landmark is probably the Coquille River

Lighthouse built in 1896. It is now a non-operational historic
site. It can be reached through Bullards Beach State Park.
By far the most
spectacular attraction is the beach west of downtown Bandon. There is a
high bluff along the ocean here and Bandon has provided stairways to reach
the beach.
