Northwest Oregon
The northwest region of Oregon
State offers visitors and tourists a wealth of facilities and things to
do. Obviously the hub of northwest
Oregon is the City of Portland with all of its visitor attractions and
facilities including the Portland International Airport.
Portland is the largest
metropolitan area in the State of Oregon.
Portland is located on the Columbia River at the confluence of the
Columbia and Willamette Rivers on the northern border of the state. Interstate-5 travels south from Portland
down the fertile Willamette Valley that is famous for its vineyards and
wineries.
From the
highways we show on the map to the left you would think all traffic is
north and south on I-5 or west to the Pacific Ocean Beaches and
US-101. However, Mt. Hood and the
Cascade Mountains are the eastern border of NW Oregon and they offer a plethora
of vacation opportunities.
