Rockaway Beach is on Oregon’s North Pacific Coast between Tillamook and Cannon Beach. Rockaway Beach is in Tillamook County. Tillamook County runs from a point between Cannon Beach and Manzanita down the coast to a point just north of Lincoln City.

In the map to the left Rockaway Beach is the third community south of Cannon Beach. Rockaway Beach has a population of just over 1,200. It is located on US Highway-101

The Beach

The region between Cannon Beach and Tillamook is a quieter part of the Oregon Coast and the small communities here are very welcoming and relaxing. There are 7 miles of wide and sandy beaches here. Most of all the beaches are not crowded.

Much of the lodging in Rockaway Beach faces the ocean allowing you to go to sleep listening to the pounding of the ocean surf. This is also a great place to watch the winter storms.

Wheeler Bay State Park 9500 Sandpiper Lane Wheeler, OR 97131 http://www.oregonstateparks.org/park_201.php This is the only State Park on the Pacific that has an airport with adjoining campsites beside the runway. There are also 265 electrical sites, 18 yurts, and 17 horse camps sites with corrals. This park takes reservations.
