Manzanita, Oregon is located on the Northern Oregon Coast on the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway, US Highway-101.

This village on the northern Oregon Coast is growing but still un-crowded.  The center of the commercial district is around 4 blocks from the ocean on the road that runs from the beach to US Highway-101 at mile 43 (43 miles from Astoria).

Manzanita lies on the slopes of  1700 foot high Neahkahnie Mountain.  There is a native legend that buried treasure from a Spanish Galleon that went aground before the area was inhabited by white men, lies somewhere on the mountain.  That along with ancient rock carvings on the beach have lured treasure hunters who are still hunting for the elusive treasure today.

There are miles of quiet sandy beaches and even a 9-hole golf course in Manzanita.  Most of the homes here are second homes and vacation rentals but they have a year round population of around 600.  The area is mainly wooded.  Nearby is Nehalem Bay State Park with its own airstrip and it also has horse rentals in the tourist season.
