Gresham has a population of over 90,000 and is located on the Columbia River northeast of Portland.  It is Oregon’s fourth largest city.  It is the gateway to the Mount Hood and Columbia River Gorge recreation areas.

In the map at the left Gresham is just east of the intersection with I-205 and I-84 in the northeast quadrant of the map.

Gresham is situated at the east end of the MAX light rail line which connects to downtown Portland.  This transportation connection allows travelers to stay in Gresham and easily travel to downtown Portland eliminating traffic and parking hassles.

Gresham is known as “The City of Music” and is the home of the Mt Hood Jazz Festival.

The city hosts several other music festivals as well.  There are many trails, parks, and golf courses in the area to satisfy your need for some physical activity.  You can enjoy the winter sports of nearby Mt. Hood or daily excursions into the Columbia River Gorge from the city.

The back drop of 11,235 foot high Mt. Hood to the east, the city’s location at the western access to the Columbia River Gorge Recreation Area, and the glittering lights of Portland to the west make Gresham, with its fine eating establishments and lodging facilities, a great place to stay and play.

Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is the only sea level pass through the Cascade Mountains.  There is easy access to beautiful waterfalls and miles and miles of trails in the area.
