	Mile 0	Interstate-90 Exit 110 – Junction with Interstate 82 southeast to Yakima then south to Oregon. This highway follows the Yakima River from Yakima to where it empties into the Columbia River in the Tri-Cities area. Yakima Canyon Highway WA-821 There is a lovely but slow alternative route, The Yakima Canyon Highway, which takes the old highway along the Yakima River from Ellensburg to Yakima. Interstate-82 goes over the top of the hills to avoid the curves of the river valley. To access this road from Ellensburg take the Canyon road south from I-90 Exit 109. From the south take I-82 Exit 26 (see below). City of Ellensburg – has a population of about 15,000 and an elevation of 1,577 feet above sea level. The city is located in the Kittitas Valley and is in the heart of Washington’s Cattle Country. There was a trading post located here in the mid 1860’s.
