The City of Toppenish, WA is located in Yakima
County in south central Washington State. Yakima
County is in Washington’s Wine Country. Yakima

Wall Murals
The biggest attraction in
Toppenish is their outdoor murals painted on the sides of buildings in the
town. The subject of the murals is
historic scenes of the history of the area.

There are a total of 70
wall murals in Toppenish, each depicting a different episode in the history
of the region.
The mural to the right is
of 19th century military in the local area. We left part of the tire store’s sign and
part of the parking lot on the bottom to highlight the fact this is a
building mural.

Hop Museum
Toppenish has the only Hop Museum
in the United States. Hops are a major ingredient in beer and
the local area historically has been the major producer of hops in the
nation.

NP Railroad
Depot
The old 1911 Depot in now
a railroad museum in Toppenish. The
coming of the railroad was a major factor in the growth of the Toppenish
area as it allowed them to get their farm products to market.

Cultural
Center
The Yakima Nation has a
very interesting cultural center.
They have a captivating display of the history of the tribe.
The giant Teepee tower is
visible from miles around. They also
have a gift shop in the Cultural
Center.
The Cultural Center
is located between the Yakima Nation RV Park ant the Casino.

Toppenish is
located on Interstate-82 Exit 54 about 18 miles south of Yakima. Its population is about 9,000 and its
economic base is agricultural.
