WA-S-OceanBeaches.jpgSeaview

Longbeach, Washington is located on the southern Washington Pacific Coast.

When you get to the Long Beach Peninsula on 40th Street from US-101 the first community you encounter is Seaview.  Here visitors will find a historic Inn and Restaurant and other businesses.  Within a few blocks Seaview turns into the community of Long Beach.

Seaview extends 0.5 mi. north to the City of Long Beach and to the south a few blocks.  Tourism was what started Seaview.  In 1881 J.L. Stout purchased 153 acres and built a beach hotel that was grand in stature.  In 1889 railroad service reached the hotel.  Sadly the hotel burned in 1892.  The two main industries in Seaview today are tourism and cranberry growing.

SeaviewBeachSignThe population of Seaview in the 2000 census was 516 people.  Seaview is an unincorporated community in Pacific County, Washington.

The interesting thing about both Seaview and Long Beach is they are beach communities but there is no beach in sight.  The beach lies to the west past the sand dunes that separate the communities from the beach.  As you can see in the photo, there are so many accesses to the 26 mile long beach that the community of Seaview erected a gateway showing you this access road leads to Seaview from the beach.
