Ilwaco is located at the southeast end of the Long Beach Peninsula. Ilwaco faces Baker Bay and the Columbia river and is protected from the storms of the Pacific Coast by the south end of the Long Beach Peninsula. Ilwaco was founded in 1848, incorporated as a town in 1890, and became a city in 1987.

One of Ilwaco’s newest attractions is the Port of Ilwaco’s Ilwaco Harbour Village. This new waterfront village offers the atmosphere of a quaint coastal fishing village with a beautiful new marina, a plethora of charming shops, restaurants, art galleries, charter fishing companies, and, of course, seafood markets. From May to October the Port hosts a Saturday Farmers Market. Not only will you find fresh produce, you will find crafts, music, baked goods, and food.

Downtown Ilwaco has also put on a new face and offers the visitor some interesting shopping opportunities including drug stores, antiques, and microbreweries.
