Park information

The day use area has one kitchen shelter, 19 sheltered picnic tables, and 40 picnic tables, many of which are on the beach.  Picnic areas can be reserved by using the reservation system listed below.

 

The camp has 101 tent sites and 14 utility spaces along with one dump station, four restrooms, and eight showers.  Forty-seven tent sites are in the upper campground among the trees and are not suitable for large RV’s.  For the summer of 2001 the fees are $14.00 for a campsite and $20.00 for a hook-up site.

History

Fort Flagler was one of three forts that guarded the entrance to the Puget Sound from enemy fleets from the 1890’s to 1953.  In 1955 the fort was purchased by the state for a park.

Directions

Fort Flagler is the north end of State Route 116.  From Port Hadlock (SE of Port Townsend) turn right onto the Oak Bay Road, go two miles and turn left onto SR 116, the park is at the end of the road.
