Park information

The park has 43 day use picnic tables and one kitchen shelter.  The camping area has 40 campsites, one trailer dump, two restrooms and one shower.  Summer 2001 camping fees are $13.00/ night and there is no day use fee.  This is a first come / first served state park that does not allow reservations.

History

This 367 acre park has 3960 feet of salt water beach on Port Townsend Bay.  The park is located on an old military fort which was built in the 1856.  The fort was closed in 1895 but used in World War II.  It became a State Park in 1953.

Directions

Two miles south of Port Townsend on Highway 20, turn east (left going south from Port Townsend) onto the Old Fort Townsend Road, proceed ½ mile to the park entrance.
