With a few exceptions, mainly around Bellis Fair Mall, north of the Bakerview is rural Whatcom County which is mainly farming. There are five small cities in northwest Whatcom County north of Bellingham. At the west end of the Bakerview Road, near this exit, is the Bellingham International Airport.
