Interstate 5 Exit 240 Alger

 

Exit 242

14 miles North of Mount Vernon, WA

This is the North-most exit in Skagit County

It is located in a rural area near the very small town of Alger, WA

 

 

To the East there is a road that takes you to the South End of Lake Whatcom, a 12 mile long lake with its North end in the City of Bellingham.   You can drive up the lake along a winding road to Bellingham.  This loop will probably consume a couple hours of restful, interesting time.

Parks & other places

You can access Sudden Valley, a residential and resort community with a golf course on Lake Whatcom, from this exit, it is about a 10 mile drive and from there you can drive North up a scenic road to Bellingham.
