Border Crossing

WhatcomCounty.jpgBellingham Area

The Bellingham Area is really western Whatcom County, Washington.  It is outlined in the map of Western Washington to the left and the outlined area is enlarged below the map.

The Bellingham Area offers the tourist a wide variety of activities from Mt. Baker (with its camping, hiking, skiing, and views) to the salt water beaches and the San Juan Islands with whale watching tours.  Whatcom County also stretches from the Canadian Border 30 miles South to the Skagit County Line in the hills South of Lake Samish.

Visitor Center

The tourist’s first stop should be the Visitors Bureau off Exit 253 at the corner of Potter and King Streets in Bellingham.  Go straight for one block from the northbound exit, it will be on the right.  Southbound turn left at the light and go under the freeway to the next light.  Turn left go one block and then turn right, it will be at the east end of the block on the right.  It is truly a great resource with a friendly staff.
