Granite Falls is located in Snohomish County in northwestern Washington State.  In the map to the left of Washington State Snohomish County is shown in red.

Granite Falls is the southern gateway to the Mountain Loop Highway that has recently reopened after a 4 year closure.

Granite Falls lies in the foothills of Washington’s Cascade Mountains and is named after a beautiful waterfall in a granite canyon about a mile north of town on the Mountain Loop Highway.

Where is Granite Falls?

Granite Falls is most easily found by taking Interstate-5 Exit 194 in Everett, Wa to US Highway-2 headed east from Everett.  Travel about 3 miles east across an elevated highway to the hill.  Here US-2 swings to the right toward Snohomish.  You want to take the exit from the left lane to WA-204 to Lake Stevens.

Travel up the hill for 2 miles to the junction with WA-9.  There is a stoplight with a left turn lane at WA-9.  Turn left onto WA-9 (SR-9 for State Route-9) and travel 1.5 miles north to WA-92.  There is a sign showing to turn right for Darrington.  Travel 8 miles on WA-92 to get to Darrington.
