WA-Counties01-skagit.jpg

La Conner, Washington is located at the western end of Skagit County in northwest Washington State.  Skagit County is shown in red on the map to the left.

La Conner is located 6.3 mi. west of Burlington, Interstate-5 Exit 230 on State Route-20 (WA-20) and then 4 mi. south on the La Conner-Whitney Road.

La Conner is located on the mainland side of the Swinomish Slough, a narrow body of water that separates the mainland from Fidalgo Island.

La Conner is a historic fishing village which was a waypoint for passenger and freight boats traveling the inland waters of Puget Sound as they traveled between Seattle, Everett, La Conner, and Bellingham before there were highways.

Where is La Conner?

La Conner is most easily found by taking Interstate-5 Exit 230 at Burlington, 60 miles north of Seattle, and turning west onto State Highway-20 (WA-20).  Travel west about 6.3 miles to the stoplight at the La Conner – Whitney Road.  Turn left (south) onto the La Conner – Whitney Road and travel 4.0 miles to the roundabout.  Turn right and go one mile through La Conner to 1st Street.  Turn left and you will find yourself in Historic Downtown La Conner.
