WA-10W-BirchBay.jpg Birch Bay is a resort community located in northwest Washington State in Whatcom County about five miles south of the Canada / US border on the Strait of Georgia.

 

Birch Bay has sandy beaches and at low tides very wide, firm, sandy tide flats that are great for children to play on and adults to walk on.

 

The housing in the community consists mainly of private residences and condominiums.  There are no hotels or motels on the Bay.

 

Birch Bay is about 20 miles north of Bellingham, about 5 mi. south of the Canada / US border, and 5 miles west of Interstate-5 Exit 270.

Birch Bay State Park

Visit the Park's website.

 

This 194 acre camping park is located on the southern shore of Birch Bay.  It has 8,255 feet of saltwater shoreline.  The park has a large beach area with picnic and restroom facilities.  It also has 147 tent sites and 20 RV sites with utilities.
