History The area of In the early 1900’s the Quinault Inn was build on the bluff overlooking the beach. This same facility may have later become the Pacific Beach Hotel. In the early 1940’s the Army Air Corps came to Pacific Beach and took over the property on the bluff at the west end of the community, including the buildings located there. The Navy now has the property and uses it as a Navy recreation facility. The original buildings were demolished in the 1950’s. Demographics It appears that the Pacific Beach Community is an

Washington State Parks has a state park at the south end of the downtown area which has both a camping area and a day use area. The park is right on the beach with only small, three or four foot, sand dunes between you and the ocean beach. This is an “on the beach” state park that is open and sandy with as much grass as they can get to grow in the beach atmosphere. This is one of the few state parks that offer a view of the ocean from your campsite. We have links to the state park below on this page. |
