City of Ocean Shores, WA is the most popular destination in Washington State
for those who want to watch the surf, walk on the Pacific Ocean Beaches, feel
the power of a winter storm, and have a view of the Pacific
Ocean from their room.

Ocean Shores
is a 6,000 acre planned community that was built in the 1960’s. The City is on the north peninsula at the
entrance to Gray’s Harbor. Through
time it has evolved into a Resort and Retirement community.
There are 6 miles of
wide, sandy, ocean beach and 23 miles of interconnecting fresh water lakes
and canals in Ocean
Shores. The lakes and canals are open to the public
for canoeing and boating.
There are two main
reasons that Ocean
Shores is the most
popular ocean shore destination. First
is location; not only is Ocean Shores the closest ocean beach to Seattle
it is also located on one of the best ocean beaches on Washington’s
Pacific Coast.
Second, is that Ocean
Shores has a wide
variety of facilities for the visitor which includes a wide variety of
lodging.
Getting to Ocean
Shores
Ocean
Shores is in Grays Harbor County 150
miles from Seattle. The trip has two legs, 75 miles south from Seattle to Olympia on
Interstate-5 and 75 miles west from Olympia
on State Highway-8. Ocean Shores
is 24 miles (included in the 75) west of Hoquiam & Aberdeen
on Highways 101, 109, and 115

Ocean Shores is a visitor friendly place with over 1000
hotel / motel rooms and most of them have an ocean view. They have a great Visitor Center
at the Convention Center / Chamber of Commerce.

Directions to Visitor
Center
From the south end of
State Highway 115 turn left to the City’s Main Gate on Point Brown Avenue,
travel south (straight) to Chance A La Mer Avenue. Turn right and enter the first driveway on
the right past McDonald’s and Minard
Ave.
