It is our sincere belief that Northwesterners live in the prettiest spot on this earth.

The goal of this site is to assist travelers in discovering some of the unique attractions and facilities including lodging and dining available in the northwest.

Our Site Organization

Our basic organization of the site is highways, mile-by-mile.  The highways and byways that we have chosen to be on the site are both fast (the Interstate Highways) and the slower two lane scenic highways and byways (like Highway 101 down the Pacific Coastline).  The way to find the information on our site is to browse down the highway mile-by-mile.  We have links for attractions, cities, and accommodations listed on the mile-by-mile pages.  We also have direct links to restaurants, lodging, and attractions.

Advertising on the site

There are costs associated with maintaining this web site.  Instead of the user bearing those costs by buying a book, paying for membership, or viewing advertising the commercial establishments listed on this site pay a fee to be listed or purchase ads in their listing category.

In general we limit other ads to a small column on the right hand of the screen with Google Ads or other ads in this space.  Our aim is to not allow the ads to overpower the content of the site.

We allow advertisers to purchase recommended ads and allow them to give us input on the recommendation.  This type of advertiser is visited by our staff unannounced and unidentified and must meet our standards of Recommendation or we cancel their ad and refund the unused portion of their payment.

Our Recommendations are limited to two to four per category.

We don’t attempt to include every tourist facility (restaurants, lodging, private campgrounds, and RV Parks) on this site. We only “recommend” the places that have been recommended or that we have visited, evaluated, and would return to again and again. Further, we limit the number of Motels, restaurants, hotels, and shopping establishments to the number you can easily browse through.  The reason we limit the number of establishments on our site is that we don’t want to become a big, unmanageable list.  We do list Chambers of Commerce who tend to have all of the establishments or all of their members in a community.

Our Listings Section

We have listings below our recommendation.  We limit listings on the site to twenty or less per category.

We are different from books and brochures

However, we are different from books in that we can remove sites that do not meet our minimum standards and add more information and “recommended pages” day by day.   Northwestplaces.com, LLC maintains the right to all content on this site and is responsible for the evaluation of the listed sites.  We welcome your input, as we cannot be everywhere all the time.

We also link web pages that are not part of this site

Linked web pages do not have our logo at the top and we do not control the content to those sites.  Should a recommended site not meet the expected standards please contact us so that we can reevaluate their recommendation or presence on this site.
