Frequently asked questions about Northwestplaces.com |

What is the philosophy of the web site? Today most
people who travel consult the web prior to traveling. We wanted to provide a site that was not just
a list of every hotel, motel and restaurant.
A list with every choice is too long, lacks detailed information, and
just takes too much time to sort through.
People don’t
have time to wade through all that data.
They want advice from someone who has been there. That is this site’s goal, to make
recommendations from a limited selection of options. This site recommends lodging, food, and
activity choices area by area. Why be part of Northwestplaces.com? Many
establishments have wonderful web sites, but can those of us who travel find
the site without spending hours searching the web? Search engine
sites provide a useful service to those of us who use the web, they deliver
all the information we want and much more. Therein lies the
problem with search engines. For
example, a simple search on “ Seventy percent of our users log
directly onto our site. On northwestplaces.com you can go right to
an area and see a selection of establishments and attractions, with
descriptions. And there is a direct
link to your web site. In July of
2006 170,000 people hit our site. 70%
of them logged on through their “favorites link” or directly typed in our web
address, not coming from search engines. Our program is a network of businesses like yours promoting direct use of the
web site. You in turn benefit from
others promoting the web site. That is
accomplished through the use of our “Recommended
by” logo in your window, in your advertising, and on your web site. |

So… Is northwestplaces.com a site of the best places? Best is in
the mind of the beholder! Is best the
most expensive, the most unique, or the lowest priced establishment you would
put your family in? The answer is yes!
On
northwestplaces.com we try to offer a variety of choices all of which are
places we would choose to use again when we return to the area. |

Do you have a rating system? Rating systems are
difficult. It seems everyone has a
rating system and they are all different.
We have tried to use the English Language and photos as our rating
system. We think the simple, “We’d go
back again” standard is the best evaluation.
