There are only two main highways in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland.  First and foremost is the Trans-Canada Highway-1.  This highway begins in Victoria, crosses the ferry to Horseshoe Bay and then heads east through West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Hope on its way to  the Canadian Cascades, Canadian Rockies, the prairies, and eastern Canada.

The other highway is BC Highway-99.  It begins at the Canada/US Border, connecting with Interstate-5 at Blaine, WA, and goes north and west to Vancouver.  On its way it goes through Surrey, Delta, and Richmond before it gets to Vancouver.  The highway continues through Vancouver to North Vancouver, West Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay before it turns north and runs along the shore for Howe Sound on its way to Whistler.  BC Highway-99
