Tsawwassen is the most southwest city on the British Columbia Lower Mainland. It has another unique quality, it is the gateway to Point Roberts. Point Roberts is the south end of the peninsula that Tsawwassen is located on that extends into the United States. It is the shortest border between the United States and Canada.

Point Roberts and Tsawwassen have become very closely linked. For US mainland residents to reach Point Roberts they must travel through Canada and Tsawwassen.

Tsawwassen is also the gateway city to the BC Ferry Terminal to Vancouver Island. This busy ferry terminal takes thousands of vehicles to and from Vancouver Island every day. With all of this traffic Tsawwassen still maintains that small community feeling. One of the reasons for that is the ferry traffic goes straight and city traffic turns left on the freeway to Tsawwassen which effectively makes nearly all of the ferry traffic bypass the city.

How do I find Tsawwassen?

The easiest way to find Tsawwassen is to take BC Highway-99 from the US Border in Blaine and head north or from Vancouver and go south to Exit 28 (BC Ferries / Tsawwassen / Delta). The Exit is 18 miles ( 28 KM) from Blaine and 14 miles (22 KM) from Vancouver. Travel 6 miles (9.7 KM) to the second stoplight. Get in the left turn lanes and take the left to Tsawwassen, in 1.3 miles (2 KM) you will be in the heart of downtown Tsawwassen.
